Statistics Assignment -

The file Congestion contains data on the amount of time Americans living in or near cities spend waiting in traffic and how much waiting in traffic costs them per year. (Source: Data extracted from "The High Cost of congestion," Time, October 17, 2011, p. 18)

For the time Americans living in or near cities spend waiting in traffic and the cost of waiting in traffic per year,

(a) Construct Histograms for each.

(b) Compute Summary Statistics for each.

(c) Construct Boxplots for each.

(d) Create a scatter plot for the amount of time Americans living in or near cities spend waiting in traffic and how much waiting in traffic costs them per year.

(e) Compute the correlation coefficient between the time spent sitting in traffic and the cost of sitting in traffic.

What conclusions might you reach concerning the time spent waiting in traffic and the cost of waiting in traffic? Write a report to interested stakeholders summarising your conclusions.

You must include all Excel results for this data as part of the justification for your conclusions. (Include them within the appropriate section - not at the end of your document.)

Your assignment must be submitted as a single word document via LMS. You will find the data in Congestion in LMS under Topic 5, Data Files for Workshop Questions (Levine 2016).1 Based on Question 2.41 and 3.71 in Levine et al (2016).
