Project Scheduling
Purpose: (1) Demonstrate a basic ability to construct Gantt charts and PERT models.
(2) Demonstrate an ability to interpret the relationships and results of your models.
Required: Using data from the "Raw Data" file as inputs to the Scenario below, construct Excel models to calculate (1) a Gantt chart, (2) a PERT chart, and (3) a critical path.
Put all your work in one Excel workbook.
Use two different worksheets for your charts, one worksheet per chart type.
Label a fourth worksheet "Summary." There you will writea short statement labeled "Interpretation" in which you state lessons learned from this assignment, and an interpretation of what it means to you.

Your raw data file has duration values for each activity, given as a, b, and m. Use your textbook for definitions of what those mean.
Using Excel, construct the following. Use a separate worksheet for each chart.
1. A Gantt chart. Use the m values for durations of each activity.
2. A PERT chart. Add a table to this worksheet in which you calculate EV for each activity, and then use EV as the duration for each activity.
Add a table to your SUMMARY worksheet in which you use the Excel MIN and MAX functions to calculate the critical path for your project. Use colors to highlight the activities on the critical path, and name the path (e.g. "A-F-G-K") in your Interpretation space.
