Construct a sequential circuit with two data inputs, A and B and two data outputs X and Y whose sequential behavior is as follows: the machine accepts data on the two input lines synchronously with the clock. The output X is a 1 when the data on the two input lines has been the same or the last three or more consecutive clock cycles; otherwise it is a 0. Output Y is 1 when the data on the two inputs lines have been exact complements for the last three or more consecutive clock cycles.

(1) Draw s state transition diagram for the above machine. Indicate the significance of the each state, i.e., what past history is each state capturing. What is the initial/starting state for your state machine?

(2) Draw a diagram of a circuit implementation of this machine.
