Project Management Assignment -

INSTRUCTIONS: This is an individual assignment and you must attempt all tasks. All work submitted must be original and entirely your own work, except where you use ideas, quotations, tables, diagrams, code, or any other material from other writers. In such cases you must acknowledge the source using the APA referencing style.

This assignment is made up of three separate tasks:

Task 1: Project Charter

Task 2: Project Plan

Task 3: Stage 1 Delivery

TASK ONE: PROJECT CHARTER

Using the template provided, construct a one- or two-page project charter which describes the objectives of your proposed solution for the selected project, along with sufficient financial information and analysis of feasibility, such that the company executive can then decide whether to invest further in this proposal. You must check that you have attributed and correctly APA referenced any material that is not your own, and verified the Turnitin statistics to be confident that your submission will meet academic integrity standards. The charter must be formatted as a professional-standard report and marks will be awarded for this element.

TASK TWO: PROJECT PLAN

Submit one MS Word document using the template provided. Your project plan will include the following sections:

  • Project Schedule
  • Project Budget
  • Communication Management Plan
  • Scope Management Plan
  • Risk Register and Risk Management Plan
  • Feasibility Statement

Project Schedule (approx. 1 page depending on project length)

Create a Gantt chart (using either MS Project 2016 or Project in a Box Community Edition) showing all tasks for your project.

The plan should be clearly laid out and use meaningful summary tasks. It should show all dependencies and resources.

Project Budget (1 page)

Create a project budget report from your Gantt Chart, showing the costs for each resource used in the project. This report can be generated automatically from Microsoft Project.

Note: remember to include overheads such as Project Management time.

Communication Management Plan (1-2 pages)

Create a Communication Management Plan for your project showing how you will manage communications through the life of the project.

Scope Management Plan (approx. 3 pages)

Create a Scope Management Plan identifying roles and responsibilities for managing scope and the process which is to be followed for Scope Change Requests.

Risk Management Plan and Risk Register (1-2 pages)

Create a Risk Management Plan and a Risk Register for your project. For the Risk Register, include only risks which are specific to this project.

Feasibility Analysis (less than one page)

Briefly outline the technical, economic, legal, cultural, operational and schedule feasibility of your project, including any risks or issues in these areas, and recommend whether or not the project should continue.

TASK THREE: STAGE ONE DELIVERY

Submit one MS Word document containing the following sections:

  • Scope Change Documents
  • Stage 1 Completion Report

Scope Change Documents (approx. 2 pages)

Using your Scope Change Management Plan, create the documentation required to manage the scope change(s) outlined in the Case Study Update (this will be made available by the lecturer after Task Two is submitted).

Your documentation should follow the expected good practice for scope change management.

Note: you should update your Gantt chart and budget to reflect this change, but do not need to submit it in this section (you will use it in the Stage Completion Report, below).

Stage 1 Completion Report (approx. 3-5 pages)

Create a Stage 1 Completion Report to stakeholders. The report must include:

  • A Comparison of planned versus actual schedule performance.
  • A High-level (brief) plan for Stage 2 and beyond.
  • A financial report to show the status and performance of the project to date and the estimated final cost of the project.
  • Impact on the business case.
  • Issues, Change Log, highlights, concerns and risk review.

I have an incomplete assignment to submit. So what I need is project schedule and project budget cost and risk management plan and risk register. Project schedule and budget cost must be done in ms project tool go through the instruction manual in that the project is from task two project plan. So that is the project I need to do I have done half and now am stucked. It’s just if the expert can do that project schedule and project budget part more than enough for me.

All three tasks are interdependent. Your submission for Task 1 is carried forward to Task 2, and your submission for both Tasks 1 and 2 are carried forward to Task 3. Templates are provided on EITOnline. The purpose of the three tasks is to allow you to demonstrate different aspects of project management methodologies, tools and techniques. Avoid building too much detail into the project chosen. Be guided by the number of words/pages specified in the instructions and seek guidance from the tutor if you are still unsure about the level of detail required. The case study for this assignment will be handed out in class and available on EITOnline on the Assessments tab for your course.
