Factors that might decrease the quality of evidence include study limitations, inconsistency of results, indirectness of evidence, imprecision, and publication bias. On the other hand, factors that might increase the quality of evidence include a large magnitude of effect, plausible confounding which would reduce a demonstrated effect, and a dose-response gradient. It is important to consider these factors when evaluating the quality of evidence and making informed decisions based on the available information.
