Task: You are required to write a research proposal outlining your planned research for your dissertation.
Introduction
The introduction provides the context of the proposed study and justifies its relevance. It outlines the research aim, objectives and states research questions. It contains the structure of the proposal.
Literature Review
The literature review demonstrate a non-exhaustive, first understanding of the wider and topic specific academic literature and puts it into the context of the proposed study.
The literature is discussed critically in an appropriate structure, which should be outlined in the beginning, evidencing the student's awareness of the nature and scope of the conversation within the academic community/literature relevant for the chosen topic.
Methodology
This section provides an indicative rationale/justification for how the student plans to conduct the proposed research. The following structure should be adhered to:
Research Philosophy - Justification of the topic on the philosophical level, specifically with regards to the epistemic feasibility of the proposed research.
Research Design - Semi-detailed outline and justification of how the student plans to conduct the research, appropriate for a proposal.
Methodology - Justification for choice of methodology for the proposed research with reference to literature and other possible methodologies.
Data Analysis - Justification for how the proposed research will analyse collected data with links to literature, methodology and research design.
Data Collection - Justification for how the student intends to collect the data necessary for the proposed research, both in terms of sources and techniques, with reference to relevant literature, methodology and research design.
Ethics - Consideration of potential ethical issues with regards to the data collection of the proposed research.
