Hershey ice cream would be a really good product line to connect their flavors into multiple treat options, perhaps in satellite parlors such as Baskin Robbins and Ben and Jerrys. However, if a company is looking to diversify, they should stay pretty close to their core product lines. I would be interested to learn how much investment costs would be needed for them to expand into these areas. Company leaders would need to determine how soon their ROI would be realized. Further, their shareholders would want this to happen quickly. Lastly, shouldn't they "pilot" these products prior to forging ahead?
