Conflict Resolution Project
Plan - You'll begin by identifying your goal (for example, to get a certain action/outcome, to sway a decision, to influence a change in behavior, to be heard, etc). Based on that, you'll then decide how best to approach the situation.
Execute - With a plan in place, you will then communicate with that person. Ideally this communication is face-to-face, but depending on the circumstances, you may find it necessary and/or appropriate to choose another channel.
A. (Plan) Description of how you prepared for the interaction, including:
The nature of the conflict. Provide a brief description of what is going on and a brief history.
Your goal. What is your desired outcome in communicating with this person regarding the conflict?
Your approach. What techniques from Chapters 3-5 and other class materials and resources do you plan to use and why?
B. (Execution) Description of the interaction:
What happened? You don't need to provide every detail but offer enough information so I can follow what happened. Be sure to include and high points and/or low points in the interaction.
Of the techniques you planned to use, which did you actually end up using? Why were you or were you not able to follow your plan?
What techniques worked well and proved to me most effective? Why?
What techniques did not go as well as you would have liked? Why not?
