This is the second phase of the website project. For this phase you will add a 4th page to your site, and this page must contain a table.

Upon completion of this assignment you should be able to:

Configure and stylize hyperlinks in web pages.

Add interactivity, navigation layout lists, and configure three-column page layouts with CSS.

Create and format tables in web pages.

Use CSS to configure tables.

Background Information

Tables may be added to organize the existing pages in a website. Developers may return to a page and add a table or nest tables. Styling the table is easy if the page has an external style sheet. Tables combined with CSS provide a lot of control over the layout of a page or pages.

Phase 2 of the website project involves creating an additional page that contains a table. Also, you will be editing your external style sheet by adding the styles that you have chosen for your table.

For additional help with creating tables check out the websites listed in the Resources. The W3Schools site has several different "try it yourself" examples.

Instructions

You previously turned in your home page and two additional pages. For this assignment select one of the pages that you turned in for the Web Project Site Map and Design Layout assignment.

Add an additional page that you did not submit in Workshop Five.

Sketch the design of the table you plan to create by creating a table in Word. Decide on borders, background color, padding, alignment, and so on.

Modify your site's external style sheet (project.css) to configure the table as needed.

Update your chosen web page and add the HTML code for a table.

Make sure that this page shares the navigation, logo, footer, etc. that you have in your home page and two additional pages.

Update the navigation links in all of your pages so that your relative links work for the home page and three additional pages.

Put all of your files into a zip file. Make sure that you have included all files including your image file or files. Remember you will need to resubmit all of the pages in your site and your Word document with your table sketch in it.

When you have completed your assignment, save a copy for yourself and submit your zip file to your instructor using the Dropbox by the end of the workshop.
