This is a statistics class for biology major.

Question: Suppose a particular school district has been waging an aggressive educational campaign on the dangers of drinking and driving. To evaluate its effectiveness, investigators surveyed 900 high school students in this district and found that 216 had recently ridden with a drunk driver ("recently" meaning within the past 30 days).

a. Calculate an approximate 95% confidence interval for the true proportion of high school students in this district who have recently ridden with a drunk driver.

b. According to the latest nationwide survey, 28% of all high school students have recently ridden with a drunk driver. Is there evidence that, in the school district surveyed above, the true percentage of high school students who have recently ridden with a drunk driver is different from the percentage nationwide?
