A lecturer in the economics department believes that students who are taller gain lower grades in Business Statiatics on average. There is currently no study to ascertain time validity of this postulation but it is known that an average students score 55% in the course. A random sample of 50 students revealed that those with minimum height of 1.8 meters had an average score of 51% with variance of 25.
a. Test whether there is sufficient evidence at 5% level of significance to support the lecturer's view.
b. Is there evidence at 10% level of significance of a different mean score for taller students as compared to the others?
c. Construct a 99% and 95% confidence interval for the mean score for taller students.
d. Based on the results in (c) above, is there evidence of a different mean score for taller students as compared to the others?
