It is believed that nearsightedness affects about 33% of U.S children and adults in March 2015. In a recent survey 100 children and adults selected randomly, 40 are near sighted. Conduct a hypothesis test for the following question: do these provide evidence that the 33% value is inaccurate.

Carry out an appropriate test at the 0.05 significance level.

A new survey shows that 55% of U.S adult Social media users get at least some news from social media. The standard error for this estimate was 1.7% and a normal distribution may be used to model the sample proportion. Construct the 95% confidence interval for the fraction of U.S adult social media users who get some news on social media, and interpret the confidence interval in context.
