The assignment is a written report of an HR planning exercise that is conducted specifically for this assignment. The report will be based on the information obtained about a real organization in Canada. Choose an organization that has online information available to the public. Where specific HR information on that organization is unavailable online, you may create it, making it as realistic as possible.
If the organization is large, focus the HR information on one department, branch or division.
The Organization I have chosen is AIR CANADA
The report will show the application of HR planning terminologies and concepts, and must include the following:
1. The organization's goals and objectives;
2. Conducted a thorough analysis of external environmental factors and their potential influence/impact on the business as well as on the HR management of that organization
3. Analyzed the internal as well as external human resources supply;
4. Identified a human resources surplus and/or a shortage, and any other HR planning concern(s) and/or opportunities for the organization (e.g. succession management challenges);
5. Prepared three possible courses of action to deal with the human resources shortage and/or surplus or other HR planning concern(s) identified above;
evaluated your proposed courses of action (the pros and cons of each one) and prepared a final recommendation.
