United Parcel Service, Inc. case, it highlighted that Hartely conducted the leak investigation and participated in the decision about whether to suspend Battaglia after she had determined that Battaglia had sent the anonymous complaint (and formed opinions regarding him). Should she have conducted the second investigation? More broadly, should an HR or compliance professional ever conduct a second investigation involving the same employee?
