Identify a real, historic emergency/disaster event that has occurred involving a particular organization, conduct research on the emergency situation/disaster event, and then brief, research-type paper that provides the following minimal components: 1) an overview of the organization involved in the emergency; 2) a discussion of the general nature of the emergency/disaster event, the remarkable cause factors of the event, and the effects of the event (i.e., loss of life, injury, monetary losses, community impact, etc.); and, most importantly, 3 )a critique of the organization's preparedness and response efforts and what role they played in either mitigating the effects of the event, or if poorly done, making them worse. While a specific minimum number of references/authorities is not specified, the best papers will likely consult no fewer than seven to ten references/sources.
