Assessment - Reflective Analysis of Role Play
Length: 2500 words
Students will conduct a reflective analysis of their recorded role play.
In this assessment task, students will conduct a critical self-reflection on their use of social work core interpersonal communication and helping skills which they applied during their recorded role play.
Students are expected to identify examples of skills used (at least three examples) and critically reflect on the application of each identified skill.
Students are expected to identify examples of where improvements could be made in the application of social work core interpersonal communication and helping skills (at least two examples) and provide a rationale for improvement and verbatim examples of the improvements.
Students are expected to critically reflect on their role play highlighting areas of strength and areas for improvement.
Students will be assessed on the following criteria:
Capacity to identify example of specific skills and reflect on application of this skill to the role play;
Capacity to identify specific statements which could be improved, and to revise statements upon reflection;
Capacity for honest critical self-reflection of individual interpersonal and helping skills demonstrated in the role play.
