LEARNING OUTCOMES: This assessment covers all 4 Learning Outcomes for this module.
SCENARIO:
The world wide impacts of the Covid-19 pandemic cannot be underestimated, but do we really know just what these impacts are? Governments and the media have tended to concentrate on economic impacts and unemployment, or under-employment.
During this module you will learn a variety of marketing research methods, and be asked to apply them to the crisis situation in the sector of theatres and other entertainment venues. In particular you should be looking for evidence of such things as (but not restricted to):
• Has the lockdown and other restrictions changed the way that people consume entertainment?
• If you have found changes, do they apply across the spectrum or are they limited to specific market sectors? Are there different changes in different sectors?
• What sort of opportunities and threats exist on the business horizon for entertainment venues?
TASK: In this assignment, your group will conduct both secondary and primary research in order to develop a basis for an entertainment venue preparing a strategic marketing plan to recover from the pandemic.
HOW SHOULD YOU PRESENT YOUR FINDINGS?
• Your presentation should be 20 minutes long and be presented as a group where possible, or individually.
• You should work together regardless of how you do the final presentation.

PLEASE ENSURE YOU FOLLOW ALL COVID GUIDANCE TO DO THIS E.G. SOCIAL DISTANCING, NO MORE THAN 6, NOTING THAT GUIDANCE MAY CHANGE. KEEP YOURSELVES SAFE FIRST. If you're doing it individually, work as a group on the research and then you can all use the findings to present your own version.
• You can use PowerPoint slides or other visual aids, or upload your assignment to YouTube.
• Your presentation should use multiple types of research to support your arguments.
• The written aspect should be in the style of a business report, with a contents page, headings and subheadings, and be correctly referenced using the Harvard Referencing style. Care should be taken with spelling, grammar, punctuation and presentation.
