Question 1

Conduct an interview with the Skills Development Facilitator of a company and identify how the training department meets each of the Specific Outcomes of Unit Standard 15217 with specific reference to the following Assessment Criteria: SO 1, AC 2, AC 4, AC 5, SO 2, AC 1 - 3 and AC 4, SO 3, AC 1 and 4, SO 4, AC 3 and 4. Obtain examples of the documentation the department complied with to meet each Specific Outcome.

Write a report of not more than five (5) pages on your findings (excluding any appendixes). Add the examples you obtained as appendixes.

Your report needs to include the following topics.
1. The analysis done to identify the skills required (SO 1, AC 2, AC 4, AC 5) You must describe:
• how skills required are aligned to business objectives. (AC 2)
• how skills required are aligned to other HR sub-systems. (AC 4)
• how the skills requirements are defined in outcomes. (AC 5)

2. Analysis of current skills and a developed skills profile of the organisation (SO 2, AC 1 - 3 and AC 4)

You must describe:
• the method used to analyse the current skills. (AC 1 and 2)
• how the results are recorded. (AC 3)
• how the training department reports on skills required. (AC 4)

3. Training and development needs and how they are prioritised (SO 3, AC 1 and 4)

You must describe:
• how training and development needs are prioritised. (AC 1 and 4)

4. A training and development plan (SO 4, AC 3 and 4) You must describe:
• how training and development needs are aligned to the development needs of the employees. (AC 1)
• the type of motivations provided to demonstrate how learning provision will address the needs appropriately and effectively. (AC 4)
