Your task

Individually, you are required to conduct an external and internal environmental analysis for a company from the Company Choice List, T1 2025. The Company Choice List will be accessible.

Assessment Description
In this individual assessment, students will have the opportunity to demonstrate their competence in performing an environmental analysis using the PESTLE and VRIN frameworks. The primary focus of this analysis will be to identify and expand upon the strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats that must be considered during the strategic development process. Assessment Instructions
Individually, you are required to research the company and address the following assessment criteria.

Introduction to the company
This section should commence with an introduction to the company, providing an overview of its scale (including revenue, staff size, etc.), historical background, industry context, and a brief mention of its competitors.

External analysis
You will need to use the Assessment 1 - Analysis Template for this part of the analysis.
You are required to conduct a detailed PESTLE analysis and critically discuss your findings. You need to support your points with evidence and academically oriented literature.

Internal analysis
You will need to use the Assessment 1 - Analysis Template for this part of the analysis.
You are required to apply the VRIN framework to identify resources and capabilities that could establish a lasting competitive edge. You need to discuss your findings critically. You need to support your points with evidence and academically oriented literature.

Recommendations
The environmental analysis should capture TWO strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and threats. You are expected to offer recommendations and insights to the company's management regarding actions they can take in response to the significant findings revealed in the environmental analysis

Please do NOT conduct a SWOT analysis. This section aims to consolidate the key points emerging from the environmental analysis (PESTLE and VRIN) and explore ways the company can address them. Therefore, the points indicated in the recommendations should logically link with your environmental analysis.
