Conduct an ergonomic assessment on an office workstation either at uni, your home, workplace, etc. Conduct your assessment on a ‘client', who maybe a fellow student, work colleague, family member or friend. Ensure you explain to your client the purpose of the assessment and gain appropriate consent before undertaking.

Your task is to create a PowerPoint presentation for your "client" outlining your findings and recommendations.

You will need to:

a) Find a suitable ergonomic assessment checklist to use. This checklist should be completed and included in your Appendix.

b) Provide justification for your choice of checklist, i.e. it should make reference to, or be consistent with, Australian Standards and latest
research findings. Include your rationale within your report.

c) Undertake the ergonomic assessment on your client.

d) Summarise your findings and recommendations via a PowerPoint presentation. Your recommendations should make reference to evidence-based research and literature in the field of ergonomics. You may include photographs taken with the client and relevant diagrams. Also include in-text and end-text referencing in your report.

• You need to actually conduct your ergonomic workstation assessment on someone. That person can be your friend, family member, fellow student, etc.
• Photos are often useful when conducting your assessment. You can use these in your presentation and it is good to see the "before" and "after" photos.
• You can use any checklist that you can find. It doesn't necessarily have to make reference to literature or standards, but you should check this yourself using your text book, journal articles etc, to make sure it's accurate.
• No, you don't actually have to present the presentation; Your slides should be brief and only contain a few points; then use your speech notes to convey what you would be actually saying.
• Your speech notes should also include in text referencing, and you need to have an end text reference list too.
