Brenda Smith's family has been a pioneer in distillation and use of Australian sandalwood (Santalum spicatum) in the fragrance industry under the brand - Album. An art form, handed down from generation, has enabled Brenda to continue the family legacy and further develop the company, which is now known for its quality, consistency in products, and reliability. Recognising the oil's wide range ofapplications, Benda plans to.

• Introduce a range of new Australian sandalwood products for boutique distribution; and
• Supply quality oil to the cosmetics, aromatherapy, fragrance and therapeutic markets and manufacturers globally, aimingfor a niche position for Australian sandalwood oil as natural, sustainable, and healing ingredient.

In early this year, Brenda, with the help of her family, has begun distilling oil from Sandalwood Album, the most premium sandalwood species. Her grandfather first sourced the seeds from Mysore in India in the nineties and then began growing plantations of Sandalwood Album in Western Australia. Today, the oil is used to create a range of products available at health shops and boutiques. Brenda has a plan to export oil and sandalwood to over 70 markets worldwide in the coming years.

The manufacturing of the well-loved existing Australian and Indian sandalwood products remains in-house, and the Album brand hasearned a reputation as one of the most cherished Australian Sandalwood products.

Brenda and Album are committed to sharing the beauty of sandalwood and to being a quality, sustainable and ethical business.

First, develop draft statements for presentation and discussion with your Manger (trainer/assessor roleplay) and seek approval. Makechanges as needed.

Finalise the mission and vision statements in a Word document, which will be used for the subsequent assessment tasks.

Support  rationale behind these statements by providing a brief explanation.

Task 2.

Using a SWOT analysis template provided in the class, conduct a SWOT analysis for an organisation.

Then, provide a brief analysis of each of the above areas explaining the relevant factors in detail, and in context of the business environment.
