Purpose and Process:

Conduct a strategic analysis of the healthcare landscape and identify what you believe to be the greatest challenge facing US healthcare. Include how organizations are addressing this issue and the role of leadership. Develop recommendations for leaders to be successful in the future. You will be studying market, governmental, regulatory, and technological forces that affect healthcare and their implications for leadership. In studying these, you will see that many healthcare leaders and industry stakeholders have different expectations and priorities. These, along with leadership values, play a large role in the determining an institution's strategic goals, planning, and policies. During the analysis, you should discern many of the threats and opportunities that affect the healthcare industry. You will need this information so you can determine the long-term trends in health care. This study will give you a deeper understanding of management functions and their relationship to leadership.
