Please review the U.S. Department of Education Safety Audit information before completing this assignment.

Conduct a Safety Audit of a school building based on that information. This audit could be conducted by the use of an off-the-shelf template, a template already in use in your district, a template of your own creation, or created in narrative form.

The process, conversations and recommendations from the audit are more crucial than the format.

Ensure your audit includes a review of the following components:

1. The five basic components of design as considered by architects.

2. Common problems identified by vulnerability assessment.

3. Solutions that address physical design weakness.

4. The four fundamental elements to crime prevention through environmental design.

After you have completed the audit of a school building, have a discussion with a school administrator in that building about what you found through the audit process. This part is crucial.

Summarize the discussion by stating at least three (3) areas of strength from the audit and at least three (3) areas for improvement.

At the end of the assignment, there should be a "prioritized" list of improvements that could be made for safety in the building that was audited.

Instructions:

Your final product will be an uploaded PowerPoint presentation suitable for sharing with your board of education.
