Question 1: One of the major suppliers for Bounce Fitness has been delaying the supplies for the past 6 months. This is impacting the organisation's financial goal, to increase new membership. Refer to the 'Financial Projections' section in the business plan (BSBTWK401_AE_Pro_Appx_Business Plan).

Question 2: Conduct a role play meeting to demonstrate your ability to negotiate with supplier to resolve the issue. You will need to identify a suitable person to play the role of supplier (a friend, family member or colleague).

Question 3: You are required to hold and record the meeting of approximately 5 minutes (which can be in person or on a conference calling software platform) covering the following:

  • Explain the issue to the supplier
  • Explain the impact the issue is having on the business and how long it has been going on
  • Encourage the supplier to explain the issue and reasons for delays
  • Discuss and negotiate possible solutions to resolve the issue.
  • During the role play you are required to demonstrate:
  • Effective communication skills
  • Your ability to build rapport
  • Use of professional business language and protocols
  • Effective negotiation skills
