PRJ5106 Research Methods and Data Analysis
Assessment 1: Research Plan
Students need to identify an individual research area and discuss it with their lecturer/supervisor and write a research plan with a timeframe. Provide references to at least three research studies, government reports and/or industry reports, using Harvard Referencing. Assessment 2: Structured Literature Review
Conduct a critical review of the literature for a topic/area of interest, identify knowledge gaps and define an appropriate research question and objectives. Provide references to at least FIFTEEN research studies, government reports and/or industry reports, using Harvard Referencing. Assessment 3: Research Design
Students need to identify appropriate research design and methods to achieve the research objectives. Provide adequate references to the research studies which used or discussed the proposed research design, using Harvard Referencing. Please note, websites are not acceptable resources for the purpose of the assignment.
Assessment 4: Research Proposal
Students need prepare a research proposal that includes a literature review, research methodology, data analysis strategy, ethical considerations, budget, and timeline. Provide all references used in the text, using Harvard Referencing. Please note, websites are not acceptable resources for the purpose of the assignment.
Assessment 5: Presentation on Research Proposal
Students need present their consolidated research proposal that includes research title, research questions, justification of research questions, literature review, research methodology, data analysis strategy, ethical considerations, budget, and timeline. The presentation will be assessed based on the quality and coverage of the presentation slides (ppt slides), oral discussion of the proposal, assessment on the level of understanding of the research proposal, and appropriately defending the questions by supervisors and moderator.
