Select a situation or a circumstance within the work or community environment. Considering hazard & risk and with regards to the varying processes generalised as risk assessment & management:

1. Identify one principal hazard applying to the situation or circumstance.

2. Conduct a basic task analysis for the specified task where this hazard occurs (i.e. a detailed, structured breakdown of the task explaining how the hazard arises)

3. Define the risks associated with the hazards you identified.

4. Use a simple likelihood x consequence risk matrix to quantify the severity of risks.

5. Discuss & justify the interventions you would use to control the relative risk applying the hierarchy of controls (i.e. Justified controls using hierarchy of controls).

6. Discuss how you would monitor the efficacy of your applied controls (i.e. monitoring).
