Research Topic and Assignment Description -
In this assignment you will work in groups (3-4 members in each group) and conduct a basic sentiment analysis on customer reviews of a star hotel in Sydney. You can select any one hotel from the list below or any other hotel you are familiar with.

You need to write around 1500-word research report on the research topic 'Conducting a basic sentiment analysis of hotel reviews by customers on websites such as 'tripadvisor.com.au' Or any other popular hotel review website'. This assignment will require each group to research using academic resources such as books, conference papers and academic journal. The group must also present their work using PowerPoint slides in a scheduled week 11/12 labs. Each group should present for 10 minutes. Please follow the academic presentation guidelines.

Sentiment analysis and their use for hotel reviews
Application of sentiment analysis to the customer review for the hotel selected
(NOTE: You are not expected to conduct a thorough sentiment analysis where you need to assign scores and also use some used advanced analytical tools to gain insights instead you can focus on customer review and conduct a qualitative analysis that identifies customer perception, attitude and their experience staying in the hotel based on their review comments)

Submission details: The report document must be checked for similarity through Moodle Turnitin before submission. Please include both in-text referencing and reference list.
Research Presentation -
PowerPoint presentation file must also be submitted in Moodle and a summary sheet (1 page) should be given to the lecturer/tutor in week 11/12 labs BEFORE presentation. The presentation should be a maximum of 8 slides and is timed for 10 minutes. All students in a group are required to present. Please upload your slides to Moodle after completing your presentation (one per group).
