Concerning the Hemoglobin Dissociation Curve, a right shift means a decrease in oxygen saturation in the lungs and increased oxygen in the tissues. However, from my readings it is stated "The abundance of ketones and associated pH reduction impair oxygen release of hemoglobin from the red blood cells. Less oxygen is available for cellular aerobic respiration. The result is tissue hypoxia." This seems contradictory. Please explain.
