Drawing from the historical record of actual events, the film highlights several instances when the British attempt to use force to coerce compliance from the Indians. In one particularly memorable instance (beginning at approximately 1:24 in the film), the British beat the Indians with batons and rifle butts and shoot them. The Indians, however, stand firm and do not retreat.
