Assignment:

Resilience is defined as adjusting, doing well, or even thriving despite exposure to adversity. As humans, we seem to be intrigued and moved by stories of resilience: the football player who rose from his impoverished neighborhood to go to college and start a nonprofit agency, the foster child who became a senator, the man born with a disability who climbs mountains inspires people around the world.

You were exposed to a few stories of resilience, but what is it? What creates resilience and how can we foster it across the lifespan? How is the concept of resilience relevant to social work practice?
