Many definitions of abnormal behavior have been proposed, yet none are universally accepted. Psychological abnormality is hard to define. Some clinical theorists, such as Thomas Szasz, even argue that because of culture, the whole concept of mental illness is invalid. Why are we so ready to call one person's responses abnormal?
