Concentration is a process by which both useful heat and energy are produced. Here, a portion of high -pressure steam is extracted from the turbine shown below so that it cogenerates produces both shaft work (18.6 MW) and useful steam (stream 2). The process steam is pulled out of the turbine at a rate of 1.58 m^3/s at 7.5 bar and 200 C. The turbine is fed with steam at 500 C and 10 bar ( stream 1). the exit stream (stream 3) saturated at 1 bar and has a quality of 90% (10% is liquid).
