Assessment - Post-Placement Presentation

Learning Outcomes

LO 1) Identify and develop a plan to deal with ethical challenges in the workplace.

LO 2) Apply cognitive skills and attitudes necessary to identify and solve workplace related problems.

LO 3) Reflect on and learn from work experiences to improve career decisions.

LO 4) Present ideas verbally and visually with the use of modern technologies.

Assessment: Post-Placement Presentation

You will make a live (not a pre-recorded) individual presentation (online or face to face) on your industry placement experience, and answer the questions, if any, of your learning facilitator.

Your presentation must consist of Power Point slides and any other media that you choose. In pursuit of the subject learning outcomes highlighted above you are required:

Part i. to appear and present professionally, with professional Power Point slides and any other media, in suitable work attire;

Part ii. to reflect on the experience (before and during the placement, with special mention of your success as to how you secured the placement)and your learning from those so that you can modify or strengthen your career expectations;

Part iii. to take stock of your current skills, attitudes and knowledge, and recognise what you need to develop in the short term and long term;

Part iv. to highlight the importance of reflective practice, and what you learned through reflection;

Part v. to present a plan (with Specific, Measurable, Attainable, Relevant and Time bound goals and Key Performance Indicators) as to how you expect to improve your career prospects;

Part vi. to identify one ethical problem and one other problem unrelated to ethics, both of them actual or potential, which could arise in the workplace, with a description as to the nature of the problems, and their potential impact on the organisation concerned;

Part vii. to propose at least one solution to each problem, and state how the solution/s is or are to be implemented to address such problems.

Part viii. to state what unit or units in your course of study (and specialisation, where applicable) the overall learning is substantially relevant.

You are required to maintain anonymity of your host organisation in your presentation and in all written material and you are required to comply with all confidentiality agreements required by the Host Organisation in terms of your WIL agreement.
