The entity has decided to settle the award early on December 31, 2017. The expense charged since the date of grant was $2,000,000 for 2015 and $2,200,000 for 2016. The expense that would have been charged for 2017 is $2,500,000. What amount should be recognized as compensation expense for 2017?
