Let {N(t): t>= 0} be a poisson process with E[N(1)]=1. Think of the points as being the arrival times of customers to a store which opens at 1. The customers arriving between 0 and 1 have to wait until the store opens. Suppose X is the total times that these customers have to wait. Calculate Var(x).
