Presume that the chlorine molecule can be treated as a harmonic oscillator with a force constant of k=329 Nm-1 and utilized the reduced mass for the mass of the oscillator. The mass of a35Cl atom is 34.9688 u and 36.9670 u for37Cl.

(a) Compute the energy in cm-1of the v=0 to v=1transition (also known as fundamental transition) for 35Cl2.

(b) Compute the wave number of the fundamental transition for the35Cl-37Cl isotopomer of the chlorine molecule.
