When working with flow through pipes , engineers typically have to determine if the flow is laminar or turbulent. Compute the Reynolds number for each of the cases below and determine if the flow is laminar or turbulent. Assume all of the conduits are smooth.

a. Air at 20 C is traveling at 3.5 m/s through a small 2-mm tube.

b. SAE-10W oil at 100 F is pumped through a 6-inch diameter pipe at 1.75ft/s.

c. Water at 20 C is sent through a small pipette of 1-mm diameter at2.5 m/s.
