From the data in Discussion I (reproduced here), compute the regression equation for predicting the percentage of births of infants weighing under 2500 grams (Y) on the basis of fertility rate for females whose ages are <17 or >35 years of age (X1). (X1 is known as the "high risk fertility rate.")

a. Calculate the standard error of estimate for the regression equation.

b. What percentage of birth weights is predicted from a fertility birth rate for females age 40?

c. How would your knowledge of regression contribute to your understanding of the behavioral outcomes of low birth weight?
