In the manufacturing of computer memory chips, a company produces one defective chip for every nine good chips. Let X be time to failure (in months) of chips. It is known that is an exponential random variable with parameter λ=1/43 for defective chip and 1/(4*43) with a good chip.

i. Analyze the problem to compute the probability that a randomly purchased chip will fail before 86 months of use.

ii. Analyze the problem to compute the probability that a randomly purchased chip will fail after 430 months of use.
