Consider an LR circuit with a variable inductor and with deltaVs=150 V, f=60Hz, R=5 ohms. Calculate the power in the resistor when L- 20 mH and when L= 10 mH. This represents the basic cicuit of a magnetic amplifier. In general some small pwer is required to chang inductance but this results in a significant power increase in the load (resistor).
