Baxter state park's boundary approximately 12 miles E-W in length and the 24 miles N-S (rectangular assumed). The center of the park is approximately located at 46-00-00 latitude and 68-55-00 longitude. Assuming the lowest elevation in the park is 500 ft. about msl and that Mt. Katahdin is at 5280 ft. above msl, compute the park's acreage using state plane coordinates, compute it accounting for state plane scale factor (use Maine East NAD 27), and compute its acreage at the two elevation extremes. Elaborate on the differences in the acreages (43560 sq. ft. = 1 acre). You may generate state plane coordinates for the boundary corners in a fairly arbitrary fashion since this question deals only with relative comparison issues.
