Using Carnot heat engine principles, determine for a gasoline-burning internal combustion engine with peak combustion temperature 800 K:

a. The maximum theoretical efficiency if the ambient air temperature is 25°C

b. The net amount of work (in W) that we get at this efficiency if gasoline combustion yields 8000W of heat.

c. Assume the engine is on a car and that 50% of the waste heat goes out of the tailpipe while the rest goes to the system cooling the engine. Compute the minimum flow of coolant [L/hour] if you want to keep the coolant below boiling temperature after cooling the engine. Assume that the coolant has the same properties of 10 °C water and that the radiator brings the coolant down to ambient temperature.
