Calcium chloride is quite soluble, while the solubility of calcium fluoride, CaF2, is on 3.9 x 10-11. A waste stream of 1.00 x 10-3 M HCl is injected into a formation of limestone, CaCO3, where is comes to equilibrium. Provide the chemical reaction that occurs and compute the hardness and alkalinity of the water at equilibrium. Do the similar for a waste stream of 1.00 x 10-3 M HF.
