A sample of clay was obtained from a point below the water table. An oven-drying test performed on this sample resulted in the following data:

Mass of can= 10.88 g

Mass of can + wet soil = 116.02 g

Mass of can + dry soil= 85.34 g

Assume Gs=2.65

and S=1

1)Compute the gravimetric water content

2) compute the void ratio

3) compute the unit weight and dry weight

4) compute the buoyant unit weight
