A blacksmith drops a 500 g iron horseshoe into a bucket containing 25 kg of water.

(a) if the initial temperature of the horseshoe is 450C and the water is 23C, what is the equilibrium temperature of the system? (Assume no heat is exchanged with the surroundings).

(b) Suppose the 500 g horseshoe was a 1 kg lead horseshoe instead would the equilibrium temperature be greater, less or the same as in part (a)?
