Question - Simple Industries Inc. has 4,000 shares of 5% $20 par preferred stock and 150,000 shares of $1 par common stock outstanding. During a four year period, Simple Industries declared the following dividends:

2005- $5,500

2006- none

2007 $8,500

2008- $15,000

Compute the dividends paid to preferred and common stock for each of the four years.
