A satellite viewing a surface location under cloud free conditions measures a 12um radiance of 6.2 W m^-2um^-1sr^-1. Compute the brightness temp Tb. Compute the actual temp, assuming that the atmosphere is completely transparent, and that the surface in question is known to have an emissivity of 0.9 at this wavelength. Is the ration of the brightness temp to the actual temp equal to the emissivity?
