Consider n moles of ideal gas kept in a cylinder with a piston at external pressure P(i) with a heat contact to a resevoir with a temperature T. the external pressure is suddenly changed to P=2P(i) and we wait for the system to equilibrate. (a)calculate the value V of the cylinder volume after equilibrium is reached,(b) calculate the amount of work produced on the system and by applying the first law of thermodynamic calculate the amount of q of heat transfered from the system to the enviroment,(c)calculate the amount of work W(rev) produced on the system and the amount q(rev) of heat transfered from the system to the enviroment if the external pressure change from P=Pi to P=2Pi verey slowly i.e in reversable process,(d)compare q with q(rev) i.e find wether q>q(rev) or it's the other way around. provide a physical intopretation.
