Three sinnal-phase 50 KVA 2400:240 -volts transformers are connected Y-Δ and supplied with power through a 2400-V (line to line) 3-phase feeder whose reactance is 0.80 Ω/phase. The equivalent reactance of each transformer referred to its high voltage side is 1.82 Ω. All circuit resistances will be neglected. At its sending end the feeder isconnected to the secondary terminals of a 3-phase Y-Δ connected transformer whose 3-phase rating is 600kVA, 24000:2400 V (line to line voltages). The equvalent reactance of the sendin-end transformers is 2.76 Ω / phase Δ referred to the 2400-V side. The voltage applied to the primary terminals is 24000 V line to line.
A 3-phase short circuit occurs at the 240-V terminals of the receiving -end transformers. Compute the steady-state short-circuit current in the 2400-V feeder wires, in the primary and secondary windings of the receving-end transformers, and at the 240 V transformers.
A balanced three-phase inductive load is supplied in steady state by a balanced three-phase voltage source with a phase voltage of 120Vrms. The load draws a total of 10kW at a power factor of 0.9.
Consider a particular communication system that the threshold is 1.5. If the signal energy falls below the threshold, the system is in the outage state. What is the outage probability P?
What is the minimum number of bits required to represent each of the following decimal numbers: 10, 1000, 100,000, and 1,000,000?
Efficiency in a power transformer is 98.6 percent when loaded such that its core losses equal the copper losses. Calculate the per unit resistance of this transformer.
In a circuit, a resistor is only element that has resistance. The generator voltage varies in time, where the amplitude of e max= 1.2 volt and emf freq.= 0.5 Hz , which the max current is equal to the max current when the freq. of emf = 3.0 Hz,
Use Matlab to find out what function in time x(t) resulted in the Fourier Series Coefficients Xn = j/(2*p*n) for n?0 and X0=0. You can accomplish this by synthesizing the signal from sufficient frequency components.
design an IIR high-pass filter using bilinear method in a system with sampling frequency of 100 Hz. The lower and higher cutoff frequencies are at 18 Hz and 35 Hz respectively. Pre-warp the cutoff frequencies.
A binary PAM communication system is used to transmit data over an AWGN channel. The prior probabilities for the bits bn are P[bn= 1] = 1/3 and P[bn= 0] = 2/3. Determine the optimum threshold (to be compared with the demodulator output) at the dete..
a sound distribution system has the following outputs 10 watts at 8ohms,5watts at 4 ohms, 15 watts at 16 ohms and 2 watts at 4 ohms if the input to the amplifier is 20 millivolts at 600 ohms how much gain in decibels will be required of the amplif..
Suppose that we wished to match an admittance using a double-stub tuner where the stubs are lambda/4 apart. For what range of admittance values can
A student lifts a weight (W) using a motor powered by solar cells to determine the efficiency of the solar cell/motor system. On the power meter the voltage reads V and the current reads I. The student lifts the weight a distance H in a time T.
