Passengers using New York's MetroCard system should swipe card at arate between 10 and 40 inches per second, or else card should be re-swiped through card reader. Research illustrates that actual swipe rates by subway riders are uniformly distributed between 5 and 50 inches per second.

Find out the following to 2 decimal places:

a) Mean swipe rate
b) Standard deviation of the swipe rate
c) 1st Quartile
d) 3rd Quartile
e) What percentage of subway riders should re-swipe the card as they were outside acceptable range?
